The Mercy Seat

Worth visiting!

The Most Awesome Tattoo Shop in the KC Area  — 2 years ago

I have found the best place in the KC area to get tattooed. The Mercy Seat is a newer shop but the owner, Chet, has been tattooing for a number of years and is an expert in the art.

Located at 16th and Grand in downtown Kansas City, you might have “fun” finding a parking spot but I doubt you’d regret getting work done here. I willingly travel 45 miles to get tattooed here as often as time and finances allow.

New York City

Worth visiting!

Montel Williams  — 2 years ago

My friend got selected to appear on the Montel Williams show in October of 2004. She chose me to accompany her and we got treated to a free flight and hotel room for 48 hours.

The gist of our trip was that it was far too short. We stayed in the Belvedere which was just blocks from Times Square, which is where we spent most of our “off time.” We didn’t have time to do many things I wanted. We didn’t even have time to view the Empire State Building, which was within walking distance.

I have a very strong desire to return to New York City, and hope that I will be able to in the future.

P.S. I’m the doofus on the left. The blonde is my gorgeous friend who a street person thought was Britney Spears.

St. Louis

Worth visiting!

Excellent Family Vacation Spot  — 2 years ago

We went to St. Louis on a limited budget this summer (2005). It is an excellent city to take a family to. There are several awesome attractions. The St. Louis Zoo was free and it was a really great zoo. The exhibits were really wonderful and quite close together (no hiking for miles like you have to do at the KC Zoo). There is a science center which has a really neat enclosed walking bridge that spans an interstate highway (complete with radar guns so you can see how fast the cars below you are going). It was free also and had lots of hands-on interactive exhibits and displays for the children to play with. There are also several other free attractions that we simply didn’t have time to do.

Don’t forget to visit the wild and zany “City Museum.” The inaptly-named crazyhouse is one place you don’t want to miss, whether you are an adult or a child. Not free, and not cheap, but well worth the experiences.

The city itself had a really cool vibe. Traffic was interesting, particularly when we were attempting to leave the city and go home west on I-70, but all in all a great spot.

The picture of my son was taken from the deck of the “Tom Sawyer,” a tour “steamboat.” Relaxing and interesting.
