And not what you’d think of a desert. Most of the Gobi is not sand dunes as most would think but fairly flat land covered in an onion like substance.
With no fences and an open opportunity in every direction, this is the best place I have been to with an off roader.

Ok ok, can be a little dreary at certain times of the year, but a place full of character and lively people. You’re at the end of the road of bones and these people have seen a lot!

Visited here on a trip a couple of years ago. Camped out on the lake shore eating fish from the lake and drinking vodka. Lovely place and lovely people – http://www.blue-dunes.com/people/fisherman.htm
