Not worth visiting!
The story was dirty and disorganized. And the food was totally mediocre, especially considering that you can get far superior food from locally owned restaurants.

La Cabrera is nearly always packed because they do a good job of differentiating themselves from other parillas. Instead of just serving meat, they serve it with a tempting array of small side dishes and accompanyments.

Visit line “A”—it’s the oldest and most interesting one.

It goes without saying that you should bring your appetite. But you should also try to bring a large group. The meats come in such large portions and are so distinct that the experience is that much more enhanced when you can share. That said the 800g baby beef is enough for two hungry people.

I had a sweetbread appetizer that was to die for.

When we booked our room it included a meal in addition to breakfast. Since their restaurant is both good and very expensive, this helped to temper the cost of the room.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this hotel in April of 2007. It was in a residential neighborhood, but (as in most neighborhoods of BA) it was a close walk to cafes, restaurants, services, shops, and the subway. The hotel was in a converted art deco house/mansion. Our room was wonderful, stylish, and quiet.
The best part of the experience, however, was the BA hotel staff. Julie especially. We wanted to bring her home with us!

I’m not too price sensitive about restaurants (I’m happy to pay a lot for commensurate quality) so I think that The Clay Pit is a bit to pricey for the food that it serves. But, if you’re willing to pay $15-$20 for good (but not stellar) Indian food, then you won’t be disappointed. The atmosphere is great too.
