I spent the majority of my younger years in the Cornhusker state… and I have to say, I learned more from the people, the land, and the weather there in NE. more than I have learned about any of those things elsewhere! People thing of NE. they think of corn… yes there is corn, but that is not what NE. is all about. You’ll find that the people of NE. take their sports and academics seriously. So many small to large towns I lived in and met exceptional people in. The only thing I’ve come to find about TRUE Nebraskans, is that once a Nebraskan they’re always a Nebraskan… I don’t know hardly anyone that has left that state to venture out and see the rest of the US… Nebraska to me was like a little country within a country… NE. is not a state you can get the feel of by just visiting though, at least I don’t believe that… It’s a place you have to absorb over the years… its the people you’ll meet, the things you’ll see, the days that will go by and you’ll realize that sports is all there is in the state… hee hee. Okay, well I did learn a great lot in NE. the only reason I’d want to go back is to visit friends and to see them most likely living the same life their parents had planned out for them 10 years ago… sad but true… but I must not forget to add that the open country is SO wonderful, and NE. has great seasons, ALL FOUR! lol… and they’re beautiful, the leaves all change so gloriously and the snow comes whene it should, and the spring is something to behold, and the summers are where you make memories… One town (I spent most of my time here) I’d reccommend visiting is Gothenburg… This town and the people within it have inspired me to write a whole screenplay about it!!! Another great place for you campers is Lake McCounohay (spelling errors)... in Ogallala. Nice lake, at least the last time I was there. Feel free to ask any questions about the state and cities/towns within, as I most likely have been there.
