Grenada, Central America And The Caribbean

Untitled

went for a funeral, and to see my roots. the country is very beautiful and and very well developed then i thought it would be, espacially after hurricane Ivan almost wiped out the whole island. the hills are beautiful and scary, especially since the people drive like madmen. If you love nature, hiking and long strenuous walks, then i definately reccommend Grenada.

Antigua and Barbuda, Central America And The Caribbean

i had so much fun meeting up with my family and sharing od stories. The problem with the whole flight was getting through the whole immigration/customs. I forgot to bring a pen, and no one seemed to have one. them i had to fill out a couple of forms, and leave. I fell back in love with antigua during the drive out of the airport. the landscaping was actually done by my uncle and his company, and they’re landscaping the cricket stadium for world cup now.

there is this little bar called the funky buddah and it’s a really nice place to chill and relax. they have open mic poetry and karaoke on certain days, but i forget when.

shirley heights was nice, but to me it was just a bunch of drunk tourists flailing their arms around and grinding the air to the beat of calypso. nothing too fascinating besides the remarkable view.

besides shirley heights, another place to get a great view is the tower at the airport. you have to sign releases and someone 18 or older has to sign for you if you’re not. They make you watch this video they say is short, but we were about 6 minutes into the video before we just asked if we could skip it and go to the top.

Big Banana restaurant had some good pizza. It’s located in town, and there’s another one at the airport.

Antigua and Barbuda, Central America And The Caribbean

I am going to Antigua on sunday 2/11 for two weeks. My grandfather’s funeral is on Monday and I will probably be meeting up with estranged family and having to guess who these people are when they say “remember me?”. I hope I get to go to shirley heights. My mother says it’s a must. This is my first time flying on a plane by myself. the last time i flew on a plane with anyone was when i was 6 or 7 so i don’t remember. I’m a bit nervous about that. I’m also a bit nervous about the whole connecting flight at San Juan, but I think i’ll be okay.
