raised to be polite, not to suffer bullshit

we used to go here all the time in college, and i nannied about ten minutes away from red bank a few years ago.

it is one of the most charming little places jersey has to offer, and main street is chock-full of excellent shops. also, the bars and general eateries are absolutelty, undeniably tasty.

means something like “i fish on my side, you fish on your side and we both fish in the middle.” when we were kids, my brother and i thought this was THE funniest name for a place we’d ever heard.

i work for a newspaper that covers this township. maybe i’d feel differently if i grew up here (because almost everyone hates their hometown) or maybe i just get to see a lot of things that most people here don’t because of my job, but i love how charming and interesting this town is. the people, for the most part, are so friendly and helpful and there’s a LOT of history here, which is really pretty fascinating.

and the schools? if we ever change our minds and decide to have kids, i don’t care where we’re living – we’re moving here because i want to raise a child who has been educated by a school system as well-rounded and involved as the south brunswick school district is.

just moved here mid-march. i rather like it, and i absolutely adore our apartment.

the english programme pretty much rules. the rider news is how i figured out what i want to be when i grow up. i met wonderfully amazing people, many of whom became the best friends i’ll ever have. i met my boyfriend there. and, if you’ve got a work ethic and some well-powered brainmeats, it’s pretty easy to graduate with an assload of honours.
