The best part of this experience is driving your car right up to animals. It’s great to watch them move and walk around your car, which is a great opportunity for pictures. This is a great place to take the kids!

This is a great way to spend the day. Bikes are available for rent, but you’ll want to bring your own, as well as a bag lunch. There are trams which will drive you to and from the observatory, but riding a bike is the way to go! The wildlife is all around you, it is a wonderful experience. In total the loop is about 15 miles. The first half of the trail (the west section) from the parking lot to the observatory is nice because there are a bunch of alligators, turtles, birds, and lots of trees. The second half of the trail (the east section) from the observatory to the parking lot is great because there aren’t as many plants and your view is pretty much unobstructed. There are less people on that part of the trail, which is great; but, there is less wildlife too. No matter what you decide to do here, this is something everyone should experience.

Similar to my experience of Alabama, my family and I have been here twice, but we just drove straight through without stopping. It’s a shame, and hopefully one day I can go back.

On our trip to Texas many years ago, my family and I passed through Alabama and recently on our road trip through the southeast we also passed through Alabama (this time lengthwise). It seems like a beautiful state and we would love to actually stop somewhere besides a gas station and enjoy the many things I’ve heard there are to see.

I want to go there one day and experience the island as my grandparents and my family did when they lived there…hopefully that will be soon.

I have a love-hate relationship with Hialeah. I’ve never lived anywhere else and thought that moving away from here would be a great change. Well, I haven’t moved, yet (that’s going to happen next year), but I’ve spent a lot of time in other cities and now I work in Boca Raton. And spending most of my days surrounded by English-only speaking people is a bit of a culture-shock that I don’t like too much. Hispanic people, of mostly any nationality are just plain friendlier, kinder, and humble. Yeah, tempers can flare more amidst Hispanics, but so can humor. There really is no other place like this that I’ve been to. I hope that the city gets better over time, improving recreational areas and road conditions. It’s definitely worth a visit if you are in the Miami area. Even just a drive down 49th street can give you a great sampling of the city.

My family and I plan our vacations, but sometimes not too well. The day we visited the lighthouse it happened to be closed. I think we were too early and on our way back to Miami, so we wanted an early start. Hopefully, we’ll be able to go back and visit the lighthouse properly.

My family and I took a tour of Halifax and we drove around the citadel, but never went inside of it. It looks awesome and we would love to go back again some day and actually go inside of it =)

My grandmother loves to make necklaces and bracelets out of beads and crystals, and while we were at New York she had this notion that there just must be hoards and hoards of them in Chinatown. We searched high and low for these beads, never finding them. But, our search did bring us to this Pearl Paint. So, if anyone knows where we can buy a box-full-o-beads for very little money, please leave a detailed comment =)

I said that it is not worth visiting because it is just OK. It’s not a BAD experience, but it is a little pricey to get in, can be crowded, and isn’t as awe inspiring as I thought it would be.
