Roma, Lazio

So much of everything in one place!

Rome is a wonderful place to visit. I was amazed by the fact that the history of up to ten or more significantly different periods could be present at each single location. It seems like churches, plazas, governmental buildings, temples, stadiums, markets, forums, museums, estates, fountains, restaurants, scientific laboratories, fortresses, baths, etc. have often been built one on top of the other. The food is wonderful and some of the best casual dining on earth is in Italy but the bread and other baked products are strangely bland. It is a loud, fast moving city and very exciting compared to the relaxed countryside. I recommend a visit to Rome for anyone.

Cape Town, Western Cape

One of the most beautiful cities on earth!

Cape Town, South Africa is a stunningly gorgeous spot at the tip of the African continent. Beautiful beaches, dark blue waters, rocky shorelines, lush green and flowering landscapes and the dominating Table Mountain as a backdrop. The people are friendly, warm and surprisingly optimistic despite living in a time of difficult social upheaval and change.

Paris, Ile de France

One of the greatest cities on earth!

Almost every single thing about Paris is fantastic. The food is amazing whether you are eating crepes from a street corner vendor, fine dining at a Michelin rated restaurant, grabbing a simple loaf of bread and cheese or having a casual meal at a cafe. The neighborhoods are endless in their variety and unique appeal and getting around is a joy thanks to the Metro, which always seems to have a convenient stop nearby. The people are friendly, especially if you at least attempt to speak a little French. Be sure to allow for plenty of time when visiting Paris because you could spend a day or more walking each of their many numbered neighborhoods and you would be highly entertained at every turn.
