I love history, so I was beyond excited to be able to go see the ruins of Altun-Ha. It was even my birthday that day!

We had an excellent tour guide who not only told us all about the ruins, but about Belize as a whole. Since this was the first time I’d ever really visited a place that I can consider ‘ancient’, it was pretty significant to me. It was jolting putting my hands on the crumbling rocks and thinking that a long, long time ago someone else was probably touching that same rock on an equally hot and muggy day.

There are many beautiful places here and many wonderful people to meet. I would say this place definitely has something for everyone. :)
