Philadelphia

Worth visiting!

Philadelphia

I’ll never forget my trip to Philadelphia. Most people could not understand what I was saying, I have a strong Scottish accent, but I had a great time. I was asked “Where’s your kilt?” and “Do you live in a castle?” Hilarious! I will keep the warmth of the people I met there in my wee Scottish heart forever.

Isle Of Skye

Worth visiting!

Skye

Over the Sea to Skye…the drive from Glasgow takes you past Eilean Donan Castle, one of the prettiest in Scotland, the Skye Bridge is now toll free. Visit if you get the chance, it’s a magical place to see.

Ullapool

Worth visiting!

Ullapool

Ullapool has an annual guitar festival – I’ve been a few times and loved it. I would recommend you visit this gorgeous little town, it lies on the gulf stream and is surprisingly warm, just like the locals. You can walk for miles, with beautiful scenery all around. It’s the only place I’ve ever run out of road while driving!

Orkney Islands

Worth visiting!

Orkney

The drive up to John O’ Groats was breathtaking, the sail across to Orkney was choppy and exhillerating. There are no trees there! Beautiful place, lots of ancient history. The locals do not consider themselves Scottish – that pissed me off a bit….I didn’t think I’d ever meet a Scot that wasn’t proud to be Scottish.

Arran Island

Worth visiting!

Arran

I loved Arran, cycled round the whole island in no time at all. Went pony trekking and was walking like John Wayne the next day.

Chanonry Point

Worth visiting!

Chanonry Point

North East Scotland, beautiful place. If you’re lucky, you might see the dolphins or the minkie whales from the Point. Fort George is just across the water. Take some good binoculars if you visit.
