i have been hankering to go to the Newseum ever since i first heard about it.

i finally went for my first time in December. i thought it was amazing. i’m a mass communications major at the University that i attend, so pretty much everything at the Newseum was intriguing to me. my favorite exhibit was probably the 9/11 one. they have the top of one of the twin towers on display, along with a video that i wasn’t able to see. i loved the newspaper headlines on display from the next day, and the wide range of opinions on this act of terror [there was one that simply had the headline “BASTARDS!”

the Newseum had a mix of interactive exhibits, artifacts, and stories. this integration makes the Newseum an awesome experience overall, and the admission price was definitely worth the experience.

The only bad thing about Assateague is the bugs. The bug bites can be pretty bad.

i went here while the rest of my senior class was at beach week in Ocean City, Maryland. i really liked it, i went with some friends and it beat what the rest of my class was doing [getting drunk every night and walking the boardwalk]. The horses are so beautiful, and i wish we had more time to explore the park, because it was pretty massive, and we just skipped over the whole thing to get to the beach.

I went to Orange for the first time about a week and a half ago. It’s a quaint, cute little town outside of Fredricksburg. However, it’s one of those places where you have to bring your own fun. Theres not really much in the town in terms of entertainment, and Fredricksburg is about 40 minutes away.

I personally liked it, and have been back another time since my first trip there.

i remember going to the Baltimore Zoo back in…i’d say kindergarten or so. i usually go to the Washington zoo, simply because it is free [and i’m not allowed to drive into Baltimore].

the main attraction there [for me at least] was the penguins. there are no penguins in the washington zoo, which upsets me [since penguins are my favorite animal…], and there aren’t even any penguins in the Baltimore AQUARIUM, which i think is ludicrous.

We spent about 4 hours at the zoo…and i’d say a good hour and a half to two-hours looking at the penguins…we even got to see FEEDING TIME :D

This was honestly the most beautiful church i have ever seen in person.
it was breathtaking, to be completely honest.

As we approached Quebec City in January of 2004, we were all extremely tired from the 15-hour bus ride. However, all of us seemed to notice that at seemingly every light pole, there was a snowman with a lovable grin on. We honestly didn’t know what to think. for a while, we actually contemplated that this “creature” was worshiped by the Quebecians.

When we arrived at our hotel, we were informed that we had arrived during the Carnaval de Quebec, which was a winter carnival. since i was on a field trip for school, my teacher ended up changing the schedule around so that we could walk around the carnaval and see a tradition of the Quebec people.

the thing i remember more than anything were the ice sculptures. the beautiful artwork that was made, with such intricacies…it was pretty amazing.

i guess i like it more now that it’s hindsight, and at the time i believe that i was probably too excited at the time to really appreciate it, and take it all in.

When i went here, it was on an eighth grade field trip…and it was basically AMAZING…

we never got a chance to see the old part of the city, but we were there for 5 days, and made the most out of it. we went tubing and dog sledding, as well as countless tours of the city. we went in the winter time, just in time to see the carnaval.

actually, there was one thing that i liked the most, that blew me away. i don’t know if this is common in Canada, or in other countries for that matter [that was the only time i’ve been out of the states] but i loved the way they looked at graffiti. they had special walls that people could cover with graffiti. and they look like magnificent paintings…it really touched me.

i would definitely go back to quebec.

The first time i went here was pretty recently, actually.
it was to see my two favorite nhl teams, the Penguins and the Caps, play.

it was a pretty good game, i have to admit…
i hope i have a chance to go to a lot more caps games next year! :D

Actually, my teacher suggested me go to this museum…
she said that when it opens, i should go, because she thinks that it will be extremely interesting for me…i believe her! i was looking on the website, and the exhibits look very interesting.

It opens April 11 [in ten days]...
i’m not sure if i’ll wait until the summer, or go soon.

tickets are free on opening day, but i don’t want to even get started on getting in on that chaotic mess that it will most likely be. regular day tickets are $20, so hopefully i’ll save up and have a blast! :D
