Belize, Central America And The Caribbean

Unique bus ride, beautiful ruins

I will always remember the beauty of the ruins in Belize, but I will also remember two things the tour guide on the bus said about being a citizen of Belize. One was that he based his identity on his indigenous heritage before his african heritage. Two was that one of the most important thing he felt the country needed was education classes on how to be a good parent towards your children. I remember thinking that wouldn’t be a bad idea in any country. I think it was about a year or two later that the reality show “The Nanny” aired on TV, teaching basically that exact thing.

Sedona, Arizona

I don't do hiking, but oh, hiking in Sedona...

One of the most amaizing experiences of my life was on a family trip to Arizona. It was the moment when I was standing over a cliff i had just climbed up all on my own, gazing off at the clear horizon on which the sun was setting, amaized at both the beauty of it all and at the fact that I had the privelage of experiencing it.

Earlham College, Richmond

International Perspectives, Great Lectures

These are the two things I love most about Earlham: the huge percentage of international students on campus, and the speakers they get to come to campus. I’m sure there are other reasons why people love Earlham (perhaps the fact that it’s Quaker). I KNOW many reasons why people hate it here (mainly the administration and the superficial appreciation for diversity). Although I might not have been able to stand 4 years of this place, transferring in was one of the best descisions I ever made.
