It’s not the easiest place to get to, but Glastonbury is completely worth it once you arrive. The sunset from the top of the Tor is amazing. The town is laden with wonderful bed and breakfasts, and the ruins of the Abbey are an unforgetable sight. The whole place has kind of a sleepy hippie vibe to it, a wonderful place to spend a few days.

I loved Winchester, especially the hostel in the old mill. Jane Austen’s cottage was a quick bus ride away, and the cathedral was incredibly beautiful.

The clear skies make the stars really bright and visible here. Also, camping on the praire was fun.

Ada is worth visiting if you know someone at ONU. But on the weekends, it seems like the small movie theatre and ten lane bowling alley are pretty much all the entertainment the town has to offer.

The Elliott Bay bookstore and the underground tour in Pioneer Square are must have experiences! But skip the Space Needle and instead visit the Starbucks on the 40th floor of the Columbia Building – you still get wonderful views of the city, you don’t have to pay $15 admission, and you can have a nice snack.

Try to avoid valet parking if possible. Even places that don’t charge for valet really are not worth it, as it takes them forever to retrieve your car. Better to leave your vehicle in a parking garage and then walk or take the people mover throughout the downtown area.

Austin is a great town for poetry, but it was so hot that I felt like my feet were baking while waiting to cross the street. Try not to go in August!

Be warned that if you hike at Falls Creek Falls, some of the trails labeled as medium difficulty could only be any harder if you had to rapel down the side of a cliff face.
