Where to start? I decided to go to Savannah with my husband back in the Spring {for his Spring break} – I am so glad that we went there instead of anywhere else at the time. Main reason being I went was for me to get a better look at what has been known to be “the most haunted city in america” {soon after I found out otherwise}, it was a great experience for me, because of the history behind the city. Savannah is the eldest city in Georgia. The city roams with spiritual activity and many ghosts haunt the streets. I was extremely happy to have visited such a fantastic place in America’s history. River Street has a lot to offer…good food, awesome shops, the Riverboat cruise and many old buildings. We stayed in our first B&B – The Green Palm Inn. That place alone has much history behind it. It was not a haunted B&B {haunted B&B’s are way more pricey}. The owners of the inn were extremely friendly and helpful and always welcomed us everytime we entered. While visiting all the places that were on our list for ‘hauntings’ we hit up “The Pirates House” – part of that building is the oldest building in Georgia. We stood in the back dining room and waited for the action to happen. Filled with ghosts, this place will have sceptics believing in no time. We had an awesome waiter that showed me around after hours {I had told him that I was becoming a paranormal investigator}, he gave us a very informative history about the “Pirates House” and we were set for exploration. http://www.thepirateshouse.com/history.html
Well I have so much more I can say about Savannah, but I do not want to make this so long. If you get to Savannah, make sure you check out a ghost tour, Mercer House, Pirates House, Colonial Park Cemetary and so much more. If you like Victorian/Gothic infulences, you will love this city! It is built of beautiful architecture, history, culture and friendly faces.
