Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

crazy people

I love visiting Lancaster County and wouldn’t hesitate to live there one day, if my job would take me there.

In February of last year, a friend and I were passing through on US 30 on our way to Philadelphia. A man dressed in a red bodysuit carrying a red sack and sporting a long white beard (very Santa-ish) was just walking along the side of the road. As we drove by, he stopped walking and smiled and waved at us.

Definitely not my first strange experience there, but it’s always good for a laugh!

London, England

Untitled

If you’re going to be traveling around London, get a TravelCard. It’s fairly inexpensive and allows unlimited (or mostly unlimited, I think) travel on the Underground, buses, National Rail, etc. The first day, we didn’t have one, and paid more than twice as much for transportation than we did per day after we got one.

Also, our hotel was near Gatwick, so we took the hotel shuttle to the airport, took the Gatwick Express to Victoria Station, then used the Underground or buses all day. Worked very well.
