Seattle, King County

Untitled

I visited Seattle for the first time this past Columbus Day weekend. I am a lucky individual whose workplace offers Columbus Day as a holiday, so I decided to take full advantage of this. The reason behind picking Seattle as my destination was because my brother just moved there, literally two weeks ago and finally found an apartment (he was living in temporary housing courtesy of his new job) and he needed someone to come and help him move and get acclimated to the city.

We were both two ignorant New Yorkers tooling around down; I rented a car and drove out to Snoqualmie Falls where we hiked down to the bottom of the falls and enjoyed nature. I also went to all the tourist must-see-spots such as the Seattle Needle/Tower thingie, Pike’s Market, Capitol Hill, Pioneer Center/Village? and the “international district” (people, it’s Chinatown.)

I have to say, it is a lovely city and I am definitely going a-visiting again. Whale-watching, here I come!

Mauritius, Africa

Untitled

Because you have everything a tropical island can possibly have.

I’ve been to the Big Island of Hawaii, and I loved it just because it was like Mauritius, but still part of the United States grin.

And Mauritius is a helluva lot cheaper. The airfare might be a bit daunting, but it’s worth it when you get there.

I’m going there again after 6 years in Dec. Can’t wait!
