Worth visiting!
I love the lion exhibit...
Walking under them while they’re resting is cool.

I’ve stayed at the Luxor both with my family when I was younger (by younger I mean a teenager) and with my husband. The views are great, the pool is pretty nice too.

In a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity, the OTC hosted a conference that I attended. We were issued dorm rooms, ate at the cafeteria, and got a behind the scenes tour of the training center, where we co-habitated with the athletes that were in season at the time. Our accomodations were two-to-a-bedroom and bath, with two bedrooms sharing each living room. We only roomed up with other conference attendees, but in other parts of the same buildings, we had Olympic athletes! It was an awesome experience!

The U.S. Olympic Training Center:
Come see where Olympic athletes are made!
The Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista is the first United States Olympic Committee training facility to be master-planned and built from the ground up, dedicated to the development of U.S. Olympic athletes. The USOC also has training centers in Colorado Springs, CO, and Lake Placid, NY. The Chula Vista training center is the USOC’s only warm-weather, year-round, multi-sport training facility. The facility supports many sports, including archery, bobsledding, canoeing/kayaking, cycling, field hockey, luge, rowing, rugby, skiing/snowboarding, soccer, softball, tri-athlon, and various Paralympic sports. An estimated 4,000 athletes a year come to the 155-acre complex to receive the coaching, support, and facilities necessary to compete against the world’s best.

All-deep 50 meter pool with a removable bulkhead to make two 25’s. The bulkhead gets hoisted into the ceiling, it’s awesome! Low and high boards and platforms into a seperate diving well, plenty of seating, press area, several scoreboards.

Review the map of the park first. It’s not as great a trip when you drive around aimlessly as when you know what you’re looking at.

I went to Austin for a convention. The downdown area was easy (enough) to navigate, and there was no need for a car. The bus system is $1 for 24 hours on any bus, which I thought was awesome. I took the bus to and from downtown, and walked to anything I wanted to see. I was busy with my conference most of the trip, and I’d definately take up an opportunity to go again and do the tourist thing.

Worth visiting if you check out the visitor center. The magnitude of the project doesn’t fully explain itself visually if you don’t learn about it a bit first.

Not worth visiting!
If you must say you’ve been there, then feel free, but it really is just a place with a lot of buildings and a couple of subway stations. Not really much to see or do.
