I came for work. It’s an ok town but nothing too interesting to do at night.

I look at my life in America with new appreciation for everything that I have. We are so lucky to live in the United States with the freedoms and possibilities we have.

I am going to Bangalore for work and will be staying for 4 weeks. However, the weekends are totally mine and my travel buddy’s so we are planning outings to as many things as possible. I leave in 10 days.

We came for a family illness. It’s really strange to drive around and see the changes. I guess if we still lived here, I wouldn’t notice it so much. I miss it a lot.

We went to OKC again last weekend for the Thunderkatz cat show. We met my parents there and took one cat for pictures and an HCM screening. It was a fun weekend!

We went to Galveston for a friend’s wedding and we had a good time. We saw lots of old friends and my family. I wish we could afford to go back to Texas more often.

On my trip to Rhode Island, I ended up working 12-hour night shifts. So during the day I was way more interested in sleeping than I was seeing the sites of New England.
So on Sunday morning after I got off work, I checked out of my hotel as fast as I could and drove off to a place that a nurse told me about. It’s called Beavertail State Park and is located on an island. It took about 20-30 minutes to drive there from Warwick and it was a gorgeous day. The sky was clear and it was crisp, and the sun was rising enough that I could get it in my picture with the ocean.
I parked my car and went walking along the edge of the cliff and took pictures of the two bays and the Atlantic Ocean (I’ve never seen it before). There were a lot of people fishing and walking around. I even got some pictures of monarch butterflies. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay long because I had a plane to catch but I will always remember the image. The only thing I thought was funny was that it didn’t smell like the ocean to me.
I would love to go back to New England and drive around it more in the fall.

I visited Warwick because of work and since I worked at night, I slept during the day. The only place open at night to eat was the Denny’s so that’s where I ate for three days (nights). I did some driving around on Saturday morning to locate a Walmart and the fall foliage was beautiful. It’s on the water but I didn’t see any of that.

The cat show was a bust for us. But we stayed the entire weekend to do the job that we volunteered for. It was cold, and wet, and the hotel wasn’t exactly the “tropical paradise” that the cat show flyer and hotel website had promoted. We did however, go see this wooden foot bridge that was really old and very pretty.
I also didn’t get to sleep very much because the cats decided they wanted to stay up and explore the room all night. So I wouldn’t base a decidion to visit on my observations. We didn’t really have enough free time to do anything and I hadn’t planned the extracurricular activities like I did for our other cat show trips.
