    Portland Classical Chinese Garden

Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

I almost went here over the weekend. On Sunday, in celebration of the Under the Autumn Moon Festival, they were having a free admission day. So my friends and I thought we’d go check it out. Unfortunately, we didn’t take into account the fact that every other Portlander is as thrifty as we are… so the line literally wrapped around the block. We might be cheapskates, but time is money, so we’ve decided we’ll go back later and fork over the $7. Anyway, I guess that doesn’t explain why I want to go here. I guess I want to go because it’s there. I’ve gone past it literally hundreds of times since it was built, and I’ve just never bothered to visit.

    Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place  — 1 year ago

This was the very first bar I’d been to! My coworkers took me there for my 21st birthday. Not surprisingly, I don’t remember much… just the sign (of course!) that the dirt cheap drinks.

    Worth visiting!

    Amazing  — 1 year ago

I visited Portland’s Japanese Garden in April. It was absolutely beautiful. This will sound cheesy, but when you go up the hill to the garden’s entrance, it feels like you’re being transported into a dreamscape. Spring is a wonderful time to visit because the cherry blossoms are blooming all around you, and the ground is covered in pink. My only regret is that I didn’t take more opportunities to just sit and take it all in. I’ll definitely be going back.
