If I wanted to eat in a place that smells like piss and mold, I’d eat at home! (rimshot)
Seriously. The food isn’t that good, the place is pretty dirty, and everything tastes kind of… wrong. There’s some sort of undefinable odor hanging out in there, and it’s rather unpleasant. I mean, even aside from the mold, and the piss smell coming from the restrooms.
They also hadn’t skinned the onion they used on my cheeseburger sufficiently—had strings of skin all through it and.. yuck.

Some of the best thin-crust pizza I’ve ever had. It’s a two-story establishment: the upstairs has a dining area with a view that looks out over Water Street; the downstairs is a walk-in by-the-slice place with a couple of counters to sit at—one overlooking Water Street, the other facing the pizza ovens, where you can watch them make the pizza. You don’t want to go upstairs. Upstairs is boring. You want to sit downstairs on the stools at the counter and eat your yummy slices. It’s hot and tiny and cramped, and it is the Awesome.

Formerly the Mar-T Cafe, which should be familiar to Twin Peaks fans. Even though the place burned down, and is now Twede’s Cafe, they still try to milk the old Twin Peaks connection. They’ve got a display of old photos and TP memorabillia in the back of the restaurant by the restrooms—some of them charred and burnt, how sad. :( Nothing remains of the old interior, though, and it’s decorated with TONS of Tweety Birds. I guess because of the whole Twede connection. It’s a little disturbing.
But that shouldn’t be why you go here, because they’ve got some decent food, and it’s a pleasant place to eat. If you can ignore all the crap on the walls. They’ve got big booths and they play country music all the time; and they have a truly HUGE selection of burgers. I mean, huge. The Greek burger I had, made with lamb and feta cheese, was really good. I expected it to be absoultely horrible - because how often are they going to make the Greek burger? Maybe once every two months or something? I figured it was just another name on their menu, to make it look like they really did have a big selection, because most people are going to choose the plain cheeseburger anyway. But naw - it was super super tasty. Decent shakes. Really good fries. Excellent fries.
I admit, I haven’t tried their coffee, or their cherry pie.
(But I used to be able to tie a knot in a cherry stem with my tongue!)

Forget the California redwoods. They’re nothing compared to these amazing, massive, thousand-year-old cedars and douglas firs. 1.5 mile easy trail, round-trip.

It’s a little cluttered inside, but they make a damn good cheeseburger. Their saltwater taffies are okay, but stay away from the fudge. Yucky.
