Look! I’m from small city – Bratislava. It’s capital of Slovakia but half a million people isn’t a big city. And for me is Praha (Prague, Prag, Prah) big city. So it’s logical that I wanted to stay there. I was there mm… five months ago with my mom and I really enjoyed it there, we were in a student rest(? is that right? – hostel) for about 10 USD per day. And what I really like is the metro (subway) of Prague it’s something what I miss a much here in Bratislava. OK, let’s talk about city, about historical center. First thing from center which we have seen are Hradcany (Hradčany, “Castle” of Prague – It’s plural in my language and Czech language also). Phonetic(ally) it’s something like hrud-chunee. Anyway Hradcany are/is not typical castle. They look more like a medieval village for very rich medieval people, because they aren’t one building. There are many small houses and towers and some churches. Which isn’t very characteristic for Czech republic, Czechs are one of the most not religious nations in Europe. But everything there look so new and beautiful. Many small alleys and hidden routes these are Hradcany. Next “stop” for us was a Karluv most (Carl’s bridge, Czechs write this with small circle over the “u”). Sounds like curl-oove most, very characteristic for this old city. Nice, bit dirty and full of stands offering books, drawings, paintings, ice-cream, water, music and more. This bridge is last years (20?) closed for cars and trams so You can see here only tourists and beautiful view. These two things are really exciting, but I recommend you Prague’s ZOO, Botanical garden, Mala strana (Malá strana), Technical museum, National museum of Czech republic, “Vaclavák”, Prasna brana(Prašná brána) and there is a lot more to see just have to look for, a bit. Good luck on your trip and don’t miss anything.
