Praha, Bohemia

Very sketchy, but probably the most beautiful city I’ve ever been to.

Venezia, Veneto

Beautiful. Wander off the main tourist paths, and you end up in beautiful lanes and alleys that look like they’ve never seen the 20th century. And you can’t really get lost, since there are so many signs marking the way back to the train station (“Alla Ferrovia”), though finding the same place twice might be a trick…

Nürnberg, Mittelfranken

Lots of history

Lots of history here. The town was destroyed in the war, though it was meticulously rebuilt to restore (some) of it’s former glory. The Reichsparteigelände, the Nazi rally grounds, are on the outskirts of the town. Not much is left of them, but enough is there to get a feel for the massive scale, and it’s a powerful experience nonetheless.
