Jean-Marie Matagne

Jean-Marie Matagne lives on a farm outside of Namur. Back in 88 I was stuck for two months out there. It was nice. I miss Jean-Marie. If you hear from him say hi.

Lebanon

Beirut

WhenI worked at the Airport my boss was from here. He brought vacation pictures to us once and I like the seaside resort look (it reminded me of Greece). Lebanon will beceome great again. I want to see a land of some biblical significance.

The desert

I want to do that road trip where you drive down through Mexico the central American isthmus and into the South American continent.

Desert and Ocean

The wide open uncluttered spaces of desert and ocean give me meditation and truth. I like this kind of detente before I get backto the thousand mile an hour workaday city world.
My friends from here and those who have been here don’t say much about peace or meditation but I’m sure I could make do.

Gorillas and 1994

Tragic history, natural beauty and an endangered species, who wouldn’t want to go here? I like the tropics, I like tropical people and I don’t mind leaving western amenities behind for a while.

Brazil

Bahia

I have friends from Brasil. I like them, they are intense. And when I see those pictures I am filled with the wanderlust of a thousand years. I am going home to this place one day.

Indonesia

(in Asia)
East Timor

In the documentary “Noam Chomsky and the Media”, the father of modern linguistics asserted that the failure of the New York Times to expose the injustice of Indonesia’s invasion of East Timor was a grievous crime. Okay, maybe, but I like the name and I looked it up and I liked the tropical setting and the people. I’ll probably want to go here until I die because it’s a distant little place. I can only hope I get to fly again.
