Sintra is an absolute must see…it is gorgeous and close to Lisbon..with a whimsical palace, castle ruins and alot of trees and areas to walk. I highly recommend…

Albufeira was like a small version of Cancun..cheesy!! not a speck of Portugese culture. to see the Algarve, go the the beaches around the town, but not the one in town. we stayed at the Sheraton just out of town and the beach was gorgeous..but Albufeira town was not one that we ventured into much.

I think Athens was a great city. I went before the weather was sweltering, and it was great. the Plaka is a good area to explore and the food is great. It is a big city, but I think that it has cleaned up alot, and I think if you prepare yourself for the big city and all the things that come with being in one, you wont be disappointed.

I went here in the off season, in March, and it was perfect. the weather was great, the rates cheap…and although there werent a ton of shops open, it was great to relax and very peaceful…

this city is very working oriented and not so much tourist oriented, which is good in many ways. the duomo is breathtaking and their are some great areas for people watching while sitting outside of the cafes. It was a stunning, must see city though. it was kind of like any other city, in a way, but if you are into the fashion and shopping, Milan does this quite well!

Amsterdam is worth seeing, I think…but, being out of the pot smoking crowd, the red light district to me was definitely not worth the detour…and, at the time of my visit, the whole city was under construction, so it was a little unpleasant. But, there are some great areas to explore, if you like the canals, cute boutiques, markets and architecture…

Siena was a beautiful place, so I shouldnt say it isnt worth visiting, but there were so many loud crowds and tourists that it was really unpleasant at times to go anywhere without having half the town bumping into you..I think other towns in Italy are far better and worth seeing.

Budapest was a great city to explore..the food was good and fairly cheap, the castles were nice..and the old style cafes were great for desserts, coffee and lunch. I think this city is rather unspoiled still, so go before everyone else beats you to it..

We went to Nafplio and stayed at Pension Mariana, a cute place with breakfast included, up on a cliffside, overlooking town. they serve the best yougurt and marmalade. yum. I recommend Nafplio as a good base for visiting Mycanae and Epidavros, both fairly close by…and, go see the castle on the cliff, great views! and a good butt workout on the way up those stairs!

Greece was one of the highlights.. Athens is worth visiting, even though we had heard that it was a pit. It isnt. It was a great city, I thought..and has cleaned up alot since the Olympics. Santorini, in the off season, was also, wonderful. if you can imagine having the town basically to yourself, this is how it was for us, and a great view for 100EU a night..Nafplio, also worth a visit…
