I passed Switzerland on the way to Italy. The mountains are so astonishing! We passed the Lake Luzerne and it took my breath away. The blue water made me want to jump into it.

One day, I’ll spend time longer there.

Here you find the replicas of the famous statue, including David from Michaelangelo. We didn’t have time to visit Uffizi, so we visited him there.

It’s not crowded, compared to Florence or other big cities. You can walk along the wall and visit the churches or the Botanical garden.

If you want to go to Alkmaar, you better do it on Friday. The city itself is nice, but the cheese market on Friday makes it more special. There you can see people demonstrating how the cheese being bargained and sold.

Not far from the cheese market there’s a cheese museum where you can see the history and development of cheese making in Holland.

Holland is so flat that people become excited if they find hills :p.
Valkenburg, which lies in the border with Germany and Belgium, has the hills that Dutch people look for.

Very touristic place, with castles, beautiful views from the top and caves.

I’ve never been to the centre of the city, til this year.

I’ve been here on my birthday in 2004 with my husband and his sister. It was unplanned. The city was full of people drinking beer. Looks nice, I should’ve visited the city longer. We only had dinner in a small Mexican restaurant.

Every august there is an international book festival in Deventer. It’s huge and great for book lovers.

Palace of the Queen, Paleis het Loo, has a huge beautiful garden. Nice to see, especially in spring and summer
