This is a beautiful tropical island paradise with more than the average amount of local color. If they would just figure out a better way to keep their boats from tipping over than those silly outriggers, everything would run more smoothly. :) Ever try to park 20 taxi boats on a pier when each one has a 25 foot wingspan with the outriggers.

No really, this is a great place, beautiful beach, great food and a great atmosphere.

We stayed at the Red Coconut which is perfect. Right on the beach, great service, pool-side bar, etc.

A dirtier Bangkok

But still a lot of fun. It really does have the feel of Bangkok, but a little dirtier and things don’t run as smoothly. The people are great though. The food will leave you craving vegetables and things that are not fried but after a little work, you can find yummy noodle bowls and things for super cheap.
