Just got here this morning. One of the most beautiful palaces around, the best part being the Maharana of Udaipur still resides in the same palace. The lake beyond with one of the most fabled hotels in the country the The Lake Palace and the Uday Vilas are quite a sight. More later, tomorrow maybe… :)

The best part of my stay was the walk alongside Lake Pichola… the gentle breeze in the heart of the summer, the tranquil sky… quite an experience… some place I can stay on for hours on end without doing anything!

Bangalore, was the city of my birth. It was almost a retirement hub. A quiet city, renowned for its races, pubs and gardens.

Then I moved to Mumbai/Bombay. When I returned to Bangalore, it was a sea change, it was slowly turning into India’s 5th metropolis. Today, when I visit the city once more, I realize that it is overcrowded, bustling with people and has very high energy levels. This is something I would have never imagined about Bangalore 15 years ago.

However, this is something I love in a city, hustle and bustle and action all around. All in all, the old activities such as pubbing and racing continue to exist but have taken a backseat to IT and the booming Indian service sector.

When I travelled to Trivandrum from Madurai I was not expecting too much. It was just another beach for me. But I when I went there and hit one of the small beaches slightly far away from the main beach near the big hotel I saw some of the roughest waters I had seen in my entire life. The first thing I did was enter the water and nearly got thrown into the land.

Then the next car came along, we moved to a small but clean lodge. Really cheap!!... As for the food, people who like rice and sea food should not miss boiled rice with fish. It is amazing!!

Then the main beach was awesome, a bit of snorkeling. Apart from that one can just laze in the water, primarily because one can quite far into the sea without risking drowning.

All in all a wonderful holiday!

From my conversations with my European friends, one common thread is the fact that Granada is the most beautiful part fo Europe. I can’t wait to get there.

My experience with Delhi has been contrary to popular belief. I really like Delhi. The big roads and fast traffic are nothing like anything we as Indians witness in any other city. Apart from that the city does boast a range of restaurants that are comparable to any place in the country. All in all a nice place.

Just looking at the picture reminds me of the first time me and Kapitan made it to this beautiful place. The second time around was pure bliss as well, a quieter outing. More encounters with the dark, the silence and the magic associated with it!

It was a pleasure going down to Bombay this winter… hmmm… does it have a winter at all.. not really… but what the hell… there is more to a place than the weather… this place oozes energy beyond anythin I have ever noticed!!!
