Rheinfall, Canton of Schaffhausen

The Rheinfall is situated in Schaffhausen, a kanton north of Zurich. It is about half an hour by car. The shortest route runs through a tiny part of Germany. We went through the border to Germany, drove for about 15 minutes and went through the border back into Switzerland.

Dahab, The Sinai

Dahab is a small yet growing version of Sharm el’Shaikh. The people are really friendly and it has a very relaxed atmosphere. If you’re a natural haggler you’ll find everything really cheap. The seafood is fresh and excellent value! Diving in the Red Sea is magical. It is quite cheap to dive here and all dives are shore entry and easily accessible (with a qualified DM of course). Accommodation is varied and you can find really good deals if you book ahead online. Definitely worth visiting! Don’t be fooled with Winter Sun holiday deals. It’s cold and windy during winter even though it is sunny and never rains. Best time (say the locals) is March to October (but be careful of July/Aug… scorching hot then!)

Really beautiful! Hire a bicycle. It’s cheap and you really get to see every bit of Cambridge.
