One of them says that the architect decided to construct the house after the death of his daughter who drowned in Dnepr. According to this legend, the architect went crazy and decided to decorate the house with the river’s inhabitants.

The museum was founded in the late 1960s and features a unique collection of folk architecture from all regions of Ukraine. In summer and fall the museum hosts special craft festivals. The visitors are also welcome to visit folk crafts shops and a traditional restaurant serving Ukrainian cuisine.
