Family Vacation…

This was one of our cruise stops and it was gorgeous!
They set up a private picnic area for everyone on our ship and it was really convenient.

However, I would like to go back as a servant of Christ… to share anything I can with the people in poverty over there. I feel terrible.

God’s calling is amazing in our lives. Years ago, my best friend Anna and I always talked about how we would go to California the summer after we graduate… we just wanted to go to the beach and have fun. In two months, however, her and I graduate High School and we have recently heard the Lord’s calling in our lives. Thinking about the upcoming summer and not sure what I would do for a job… I started to look on-line for a nanny job. I couldn’t find anything, even after looking through camp counseling jobs in many locations. So I set the idea aside and decided to pray about it and let God speak to me. He definately did just that and what He told me was that He wanted me to work at a camp in California! My best friend and I have applied for this place and are still awaiting our application and interview processes to be finished. However, this is an amazing testimony of how the Lord can use our selfish desires… and turn them into something amazing that will glorify Him and build up His Kingdom.
The camp works with inner-city kids and offers us a chance to work with kids of all ages throughout the summer. I praise God for speaking so clearly to my heart and for providing me the strength to trust in Him despite the unencouraging comments from my family and other friends who feel that this isn’t God’s calling.
