Feeling Hopeful

Because I grew up in southern New England and never got to see Maine because we didn’t have the time or money for day trips.

Someday, when I’m visiting family, I may drive up to Maine to see another part of New England.

My parents used to bring me camping in or near this park when

I was a kid in the 1970’s. Some of my earliest memories are of this place. We used to camp with a big group of friends.

It’s an absolutely beautiful place. We hiked through part of this park and drove through some of it, so we could see even more. I love how it’s cooler on top of the mountains, and the air smells and feels so clean.

I spent the summer of 1996 in PA working with kids. The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon was beautiful and I saw some awesome fireworks near Penn State University. I have lots of memories and experiences that have impacted my life from that time.
