When I first hiked up here with my boyfriend and friend Michelle, it was one of the first sunny, beautiful days in Portland at the end of a long winter. I was blown away by the beauty, the view, the smells, the atmosphere. I fortunately live quite near it and go quite often to read, make jewelry, write & just soak in the nature. I could die happily there.

The caves are breathtaking. I still remember this place from about 11 years back and plan on going again.

Now, I remember my incredible stay here from about 12 years ago. My parents brought me to Lake Lure Lodge when I was about 12-years-old and it was such a beautiful place. Everyone in that area is friendly and I remember I made a few pen pals with other children there. I would love to go again.
