I definately would recommend the Rouge Hotel to anyone looking to visit DC. I love the theme, and the bathrobes are awesome! I especially enjoyed the lounge area downstairs and the newspaper each morning.
over 6 years agoOld Town is the home of the Penobscot Indian Nation, and is actually and island in the penobscot river. There is a strong sense of community in Old Town, and the people are all very friendly. I would recommend hitting up one of the town’s fesivals, either Canoe Hullabaloo in July or Riverfest in September. I live nearby and try not to miss either of them!
over 6 years agoWell… I live here! My family moved here when I was 2 and had we stayed in Connecticut I would’ve gone to rougher schools and lived in a bad neighborhood. On the down side, there wasn’t much to do growing up if you’re one to be more interested in music and cultural activities instead of skiing and 4 wheeling. Maine is a nice, relaxed place, and most parts are pretty cheap. It’s definately a great vacation spot. People are also very friendly here… sometimes TOO friendly… they start talking to you when you have other things to do…
