I’ve been here a couple of times. It’s a big store, has some nice surf type clothes, and if you’re looking for something specific, you’ll probably find it. However, I think it is overrated and not really full of bargains.

If you don’t want to go out on a boat, there is a great little beach where you can snorkle- Paradise Cove. It’s across the island from Freeport, so it costs a little more for the taxi ride- but I thought it was worth it to get away from the crowds and the commercial feeling. Also interesting to see the beaten down trees from all the hurricanes in 2004. I thought we had it bad here in Florida.

Take an “unapproved” taxi, visit the Pork Pit and get your hair braided. Don’t forget to drink some Red Stripe and buy Blue Mountain coffee at the grocery store, not at the rip-off tourist shops.

After we disembarked, we rented an old beat-up VW bug and drove across the island to the ruins and to the rather uninhabited beaches. The bug almost broke down on us! But it was a fun adventure. Unfortunately, we did not snorkel there, not enough time.

I visited friends of the family in Basel in 2002. We went to wineries, a museum, and took a trip to Lucerne. I have never before or since experienced such hospitality. The countryside and villages are the most beautiful and charming places I have ever seen. I loved it, and my stay was not long enough!

After we walked through the baths, we had full tea at the Pump Room. Great way to finish off the afternoon.

Went at the end of July, right after the heatwave. Even in summer, the city is so much fun. We saw the best show ever: The Drowsy Chaperone.

I want to go here, but actually, I want to see all the New England states. I’m working on visiting all 50 states, but I’ve never been to New England. I’d like to drive around and do some hiking in the fall.

I went here on my first ski trip when I was a teenager. It might be a nice place for a vacation home.
