Memphis

Worth visiting!

Went to visit my sister. Enjoyed Graceland, the Botanical Gardens, the Rock and Soul Museum and the Gibson Guitar factory. Can’t say it was my favorite city, and I’m glad I don’t live there, but it was worth a visit, and I had a great time visiting my sister.

Taos

Worth visiting!

Had a fabulous time in the Pueblo museum and browsing the shops. Fondest memory was of the little behind-the-hair-salon restaurant Taos Pizza Out Back. It was fabulous and fun!

I was young, and it some respects it feels like a big rock. But learning how they built it was really neat. And the fudge was awesome! I’d go back.

Grand Canyon National Park

Loved It, Loved it!

My hubby and I hiked inside and were so horribly sore the next day. But I would do it all over again. I cried at my first sight of this monstrous “hole in the ground.”

Auschwitz-Birkenau

Worth visiting!

Unbelievable.

Even visiting this place did not fully help me understand the horror that happened. With everything quiet and still, the chaos and confusion and terror was impossible to imagine. Yet, I’m glad I went, as I will never forget it.

One piece of advice: Give yourself several hours. There’s lots ot see!

Storm Lake

Worth visiting!

Of course, you have to want a small town.

I grew up in Storm Lake. It is a nice little town with some real charm. Definitely worth a vist on Independence Day, and during the Christmas season for Santa’s Castle. One of the best bakeries around, and fabulous cheesecake if you know where to look.

Ljubljana

Worth visiting!

Only one day, but...

I was singing with my college choir, and we sang in this lovely baroque church. The sound just carried and carried. Our siniging even brought people in off the street halfway through! So my favorite memory of the place is of something other than the place.

But I really enjoyed my short time there. It was lovely, the people were kind, and it was a joy to perform.
