Unless you live here there isn’t a reason to go here. Small quiet town with a good location and access to everything else in the Boulder-Denver area. If you do have to go to Erie pack a lunch unless your eating out of the microwave at the gas station.

I took the tour and was disappointed that you only were allowed to look down into the stacks from the Rotunda. As I was leaving I noticed a sign on the wall that gave directions to the room for Library Card applications. As a certified collector of Library Cards I had to get one. I followed the arrows for wlhat seemed like forever and found the little room in back. Filed out my Application, had my picture taken, waited for it to laminated, and then I had it! The KING of library cards! It’s an entirely different experience browsing the stacks from the inside. An amazing place.

One of the best shows in the Geyser Basin below the Old Faithful Inn. Pack a lunch AND a book and wait for the Thumper! You can feel the earth move when it goes. THUMP, thump…THUMP, thump. It’s not what you expect, it cycles and gets progressively bigger and louder. Quite different and more memorable than the fountain style geysers.

Summer is when Aspen really goes into gear. One of the best small town 4th of July Parades you will ever have the pleasure of experiencing.

I spent 7 Days paddling through 438,000 acres of swamp. It is one of the biggest surprises you will ever experience. Paddling all day through magnificent plant and animal life and FREAKIN BIG Alligators! Fortunately they want nothing to do with you. Slleping on raised platforms and listening to an unbeleivable cacophony of sounds. Absolutely incredible when you paddle the headwaters of the Suwannee River. Highly recommended for any canoeists!

6 Winters working in Alta and Skiing every day! Broke as they come but the Season Ski Pass, Room and Board, and time to ski everyday…Priceless! Great Mountain for the adventurous but not for the weak of heart. When they steep they mean STEEP! Makes most of Colorado Ski resorts look like La La Land. If you go to Alta you go to ski especially since that’s all there is.

I miss this place, especially since I live in Colorado now.

The way a bookstore is supposed to be. Amazon wants to be all things to all people. Powells just does books and they do it exceptionally well. They have a great website also.
