Fort Worth

Not worth visiting!

several years ago

Maybe it’s changed now but when I visited it several years ago it was very inconvenient.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

Worth visiting!

HUGE

Just to say you’ve been there.

It’s extremely huge and can be horribly confusing but what really makes it worth it is the experience of taxi-ing over a highway on an airplane. Very cool.

Bandera

Worth visiting!

Cowboy Capital of Texas

I live near here. Bandera is a very “western” theme town and goes to great lengths to preserve that image.

Main street is very small but laden with shops and good BBQ.

This area has lots of Dude Ranches where you can stay. Don’t forget the Cowboy Breakfast.

When the Rodeo comes to San Antonio, the trail wagon walk to it starts in Bandera and ends in SA with a giant breakfast.

Belton

Worth visiting!

actually depends

there’s some things about Belton I hate and there’s other things I don’t so I’m kinda on the fence about it.

Like the Belton Expo Center is great but the hotels aren’t, there’s very few restaurants and the whole highway system is confusing.

Maybe it’s diff for the residents though.

San Angelo

Worth visiting!

quick visit

I traveled with a friend and stayed with a couple she knew.

Had a good time but got prickly heat something fierce. It’s a pretty town/city and is as far west as I’ve ever been.

Fredericksburg

Worth visiting!

great shopping

I love this town. The main street is short and sweet but is lined with tons of shops.

Is the home to several very nice bed and breakfasts.

Was built and settled by German immigrants and holds a huge Oktoberfest every year.

Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park

Worth visiting!

plenty to see

it’s a very nice ride there, a small but interesting museum, also you can take a ride and visit the ranch, where he was born and grew up, the family’s cemetary, etc.

famous in fall

it’s almost impossible to get in there in fall when the Maple trees turn red

Maple Trees are extremely rare in Texas. Also not many tree’s leaves turn red.
