One Liberty Place

Not worth visiting!

A review of this place: For the past 18 years,

it’s been the tallest building in Philadelphia, but unfortunately, unlike the Sears Tower, Empire State Building, or the tallest skyscrapers in other cities, One Liberty Place features no skylobby, observation deck, or any other tourist attraction to emphasize it’s height, history or architecture.

It’s a complex that has two towers: One and Two Liberty Place, which are connected by an upscale, expensive shopping mall and food court on the first two floors, called “The Shops at Liberty Place.” Unfortunately, though it’s a beautiful building from afar, there’s not much there and it’s not worth visiting. It would be nice if they’d add more to attract toursists to one of the most beautiful skyscrapers in Philadelphia.

News about this place

There are countless communities in Philadelphia’s surrounding counties, all considered to be Philadelphia’s suburbs. Lots of people commute into the city on I-95, or take SEPTA’s regional rail.

Center City

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: Center City, Philadelphia

For those who don’t know, “Center City” is the local name for what all Philadelphians refer to as downtown, or the heart of the city’s buisness and tourism district. Center City is where Philadelphia’s City Hall is located and where all of the city’s high rises and skyscrapers stand. There’s lots of good shopping and restauraunts in there, and it is home to the city’s “Avenue of the Arts,” a street with a variety of theatres which showcase a variety of professional shows, music and dance.

Center City is a major regional transportation hub, with SEPTA providing numerous bus routes, all of their regional rail routes, the city sub way and the elevated train all available at that location. 30th Street Station, Philadelphia’s largest railway terminal houses Amtrak trains, New Jersy Transit, and provides SEPTA regional rail connections directly to all of Philadelphia International Airport’s terminals.

Philadelphia, as a city, expands miles beyond its square-mile Center City district, and outside of its boarders are many many suburban communities in the surrounding counties. I live about an hour outside of Philadelphia, but love the city very much. I spend a lot of time there, especially in Center City. One day I really want to live there.

Wilmington

Why I want to go to this place

I’m a Philadelphia fanatic. Living in the norteast, I’ve passed the little skyline of Wilimington on the highway a number of times in my life, say, on the way to Baltimore or DC. I always wondered what little Wilmington is like compared to its taller, neighboring citys.

Palm Springs

Not worth visiting!

It was WAY

WAY, WAY too hot to even be enjoyable in my opinion. I suppose the desert just wasn’t my taste. It was so hot all I wanted to do was sleep in the resort hotel room the entire time. I was miserable whenever my family had us go outside to sight see… It was impossible to spend much more than a minute outside before becoming sweaty and thirsty from the 110 degree dry heat.

It was even hot at night time. Around 100 degrees… I thought it was aweful to be honest… But what can I say? It was a family vacation.

My favorite part was the windmills, and the tram ride to the mountain tops. I just wish it wasnt so incredibly unbearably hot out there.

While I was there saw Los Angeles, though, because I was always curious about that city. No matter what, I always seem happiest when I’m in Philly… Even though it’s so close to home.
