A short visit to country..
The last time I visitet the Czechs was a short one. I went there driving my car, destination Prague. I had read that I need some sort of payment to use the highways, but I din’t know how to obtain them. No way that there would have been anything written on english about them.. Ok, when I hit the hightway there was a policeman on patrol who of cource then fined me. Grrreat. I didn’t have any local money, so I could’t pay, and he didn’t accept Euros. ( a lawful cot this one, he could have taken the money himself! ) Anyway, it was sunday and nothing was open where I could have a) payed the fine and b) bought the darn highway payment to avoid more fines. Tried finding post offices but.. not open on sunday, at least not on the region we were on. We thought we had seen enough and headed back without paying the fine.. I let them keep their roads..
But anyway, it was kind of my bad. Of cource it would have been nice to have big english written plaques stating to buy the stickers before the highway. But no bad feelings, I’ll definitely go there again!
