U.S. Space & Rocket Center

Worth visiting!

I survived a weekend with the Cub Scouts

;) This was a great trip – the boys really enjoyed the museum and the various activities they had. Lots of real space stuff you can get up close and personal with – brought back memories of my elementary school days and the thrill of space exploration.

There is a rocket park outside that is really impressive too – they are restoring a Saturn V rocket (Apollo program) that is a National Historic Landmark (stages lying on side in background)

Actually remembered to mail off a postcard to the Robots too!

Sherman

Worth visiting!

I lived here when my husband & I were first

married. We rented a winterized lake cabin that was our little “love shack”. It really was not much more than a shack. It had a dirt basement, so we had a lovely family of mice living with us too. We loved living here, it was on Candlewood Lake and the rest of the homes were owned mostly by New Yorkers who only came up on spring and summer weekends. I can only imagine what the real estate prices are up there lateley :)....

Chichen Itza

Worth visiting!

It has been a few years

I recall the bus ride from Cancun as harrowing – the drivers are absolutely crazy and we passed a number of horrible accidents along the way. The ruins were amazing and yes we braved climbing the large pyramid (can’t recall the names of anything). Going up was not as bad as coming down :)

Italy

(in Europe)
We have made this a firm family goal

This has been a long standing desire as my Dad’s parents are immigrants from Italia. Watching the Pope’s funeral and then the installation Mass of Benedict XVI made us all want to go and soak up all of the fabulous art and architecture. Not to mention the food. mmmm….

New Zealand

I've wanted to go there since the 70's

there was a great photo spread in National Geographic and I fell in love…. The LOTR movies reignited that lost desire to go there.

Québec City

Worth visiting!

went on a trip with french class in high school

My strongest memory was of the Basilica of Ste. Anne de Beaupré where there were crutches and canes piled up everywhere by people who felt they were cured by her intercession. It was a powerful image.
Quebec City was beautiful and so old world looking compared to very modern Montreal that we visited on the same trip.

Chattanooga

Worth visiting!

Fun, family friendly city

The aquarium is fantastic, they have a minor league ballpark, childrens museum, riverboat rides, artsy section, etc. I always feel comfortable & safe walking around the city with my kids.
