Brighton and Hove, East Sussex

Untitled

I grew up in Brighton. It’s a fantastic city with plenty to do and see. Brighton has a very diverse population, everyone is welcome in Brighton.

The nightlife is unbeatable and there’s plenty of pubs and clubs around West Street. There’s lots of family entertainment too with the pier and the marina.

It’s a great place and well worth a visit.

Downpatrick, County Down

From the big city to a small town

I moved to Downpatrick from Brighton in 2002. Downpatrick is a much smaller town than I am used to, Brighton is a very dynamic and diverse city with a vibrant energy and plenty of entertainment. In contrast, Downpatrick is small town with few shops and little entertainment. There is rarely any thing happening here unless there is a parade or a march.

Having said that, the people here are friendly and the scenery is quite spectacular at times. As I have to travel to other towns for shopping and entertainment it means I see more of Ireland, when I lived in Brighton I rarely visted other towns.

The slow pace means I can devote more time to studying and because I’m away from the glare of city the night sky is beautiful and I can see more stars than ever before. And you can’t beat the St Patricks Day celebrations!
