Sailed from Skagway, AK to Prince Rupert, BC and camped out in the solarium. Amazing journey! Loved sleeping in the solarium.

Traveled from Skagway, AK to Prince Rupert, BC via the ferry. Absolutely amazing. We camped out in the solarium on the deck.

Very beautiful place, but overrun with cruise ships and tourists. I passed through to get to the Alaska Marine Highway ferry—which is indeed worth going (briefly) through Skagway.

I just ran the Humpy’s Marathon a few days ago. Immediately following the race, in my post-race exhaustion and need for consumption, I limped into Humpy’s for an Alaskan Amber ale and a very tasty meaty burger. Mmmm. Great place, rather busy. But I think it was worth it.

Humpy’s sponsors a marathon (plus a half, 10k and 5k) every year. Check it out…the course runs along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.

I went up to the top on 14 March…up the Snowdon Ranger Path and down the Ryd-Ddu. Cloudy at the top, but a few breaks left me breathless. Stunning views all around! It was very windy and cold at the top, though.

The Snowdon Ranger Path is beautiful and not too challenging. I want to go back someday and try from another route. It is easy to get lost, although on the Snowdon Ranger at least, there are waymakers (piles of stones to guide the path) once you start getting near the top.

I didn’t quite make it to the top…it was very windy and cold. I was almost blown over. I’d already done quite a bit of hiking on my trip (in Wales and Yorkshire, England) so I decided to go down and warm up. Maybe next time…

We ascended on 14 March from the Snowdon Ranger Path. It was cold and windy at the top, but there were a few peeks of the view. We went down the Ryd-Ddu path and had a well-deserved delicious meal at a pub in Ryd-Ddu.

Absolutely amazing!

Small town, charming. Stay at the Hometown Inn…friendly service and each room is decorated with a different theme.

Absolutely a must for anyone who loves books. Go. Get lost. It’s amazing!

I saw Mt. Cook on a clear day. Absolutely breathtaking. I was only 8 at the time, so I’d love to go back, even if it’s cloudy.

Definately worth the trip!
