It was cold, it was colonial India. They had tasty chocolates.

Japan

(in Asia)

Worth visiting!

I did Tokyo Disneyland

They served us green noodles on JAL, the airlines we took to Japan. It was not a pleasant appetising experience for 8 year old me.

And not enough people speak English there! (but of course..) So come prepared to learn some Japanese.

Chennai

Worth visiting!

Dusty, noisy but still familiar

Strangely familiar – perhaps because I understand some Tamil. The dustiness and noise however.. leaves much to be desired. Restaurant food doesn’t taste as good to me as a home-cooked Indian meal, and it’s not fun temple hopping when the temples themselves are often unclean and crowded.

The shopping is ok, nothing to shout about. Chennai is really a destination to experience South India.

Phuket

Worth visiting!

Bargain central

The beaches aren’t anything to shout about, particularly if you’re Malaysian! But the bargains available on the street markets are a dream for the conscious shopaholic. Cute hemp bags, cheap clothes and fake branded items – it’s all there and the price can always be lower.

Bangalore

Not worth visiting!

Bah. I was ill.

I got horribly ill during my trip there in.. ‘93ish.
I remember lots of street beggars (although that’s a fixture in most Indian cities), nice restaurants and lots of cheap Levis.

London

Worth visiting!

Lots of shops, cabs and.. apparently lots of good live shows.
I just want to see Herbaliser though..

What I have seen at London – Little Shop of Horrors, Starlight Express and .. the Zoo. Hyde Park.

Too young to think too much of London then.

New York City

Someday soon!

After Nat visited M’sia and spoke bout how life is in NYC – I really can’t wait to visit. It’s a great chance to spend some time with her..but also, to see the sights, do the NYC thing, ride the subway, and leave with the NYC attitude..mmcantwait.

San Francisco

Bay Area

Hoping to visit Sanfran by Dec 2005 – I know several ppl there, some truly amazing fun beings and the combination of the vibe there with these people will make for a gorgeous trip.

I’m also hoping for a chance to get a job here – so if anyone needs a skilled software engineer (5 years experience) – hit me up!

Atlanta

Worth visiting!

Hotlanta as they say..

I stayed in Atlanta for 2 weeks in April 2005 – it’s an awesome place – Piedmont Park is especially gorgeous. The restaurants are pretty nummy, but my fave part of town was Little Five Points.

Thanks to Oak – I got a chance to see Shipping News and Hella play in Atlanta – the latter in particular was an experience..These aren’t bands I would normally ever know about but I’ve a music connoisseur of sorts ever-willing to share his love for the goodness in music.

Having stayed in Atlanta for four months in late 2005, I’ve since been disillusioned with its materialistic urban lifestyle. If you’re into the mad anonymous city rush – this may well be the place for you. The saving grace has been the company kept – the Baha’i community in Atlanta is friendly and dynamic!
