I lived in the Gorge for 8 years. It’s a beautiful place! The River will always hold a special place in my heart.

I grew up in Grass Valley. Spent 19 years in that town. Of course that was 30 years ago. The country is beautiful. The climate is great. The history of the gold country is worth discovering. The people….. well, that is why I left and have never been back. It’s worth visiting, but don’t get too comfortable.

Funny story.. 2 of my daughters were pregnant at the same time. I have a picture of them in front of Mt Rushmore showing off their bellies. Not one single person I’ve shown that picture to notices the monument in the background until it’s pointed out to them!

Wall Drug is one of those places you have to go just to say you’ve been there. Go there, do that, get the bumper sticker.

Absolutely one of my favorite places in the United States!!! I love the Badlands!!!

The last time we were traveling cross country, we stopped here. My daughter kept saying she wanted to see “The mashed potato mountain”. I had no idea what she meant until she told me about the movie. Apparently in the movie, the guy made a replica of Devils Tower out of mashed potatoes on his plate. Ever since then, we make a point of stopping at the mashed potato mountain whenever we are near.
