thought it was cool

Bustling Asian metropolis but with the right level of prosperity (i.e. good sanitation, less pollution, enough English-speakers, etc) The Taipei 101 building is just awesome!!!

The only bad thing is the odor of “stinky tofu” (yes, that’s what it’s called) which permeates the entire city.

Oakland, Alameda County

underrated, both to visit, and to live in

I lived in SF for years, moved to Oakland about 2 years ago. Love it. Lake Merritt, (real, non-touristy) Chinatown, BART stations, did I mention Lake Merritt? Mellow and unexpensive, friendlier people. My rent went down about 25%, too (for a much bigger place, with parking)
