Mowich Lake, Mount Rainier
Hiking in July
We drove up to Mowich two weeks ago. The access road that goes right up to the lake was not open yet, so we parked at the cloest trailhead and started hiking. They were clearing out the road. It was 90 degree weather and we were in shorts and chacos, but the snow was easily up to our shoulders on the sides of the trail!!! When we got too hot, we just had a snowball fight! The snow is melting fast, and the road should be open for driving up anytime.
