Newport

Worth visiting!

A great year

I spent a year in Newport when I was seventeen years old. I remember we lived in this house on wolcott avenue in Middletown and it was close by the ocean just a few minutes walk. I remember well my year in RI as I made a lot of friends there from many different countries as well as I learned English, well…some English. Newport is a nice place to live as it is quite a quiet town during the year and a busy summer getaway during .. you guessed it … summer. Plenty to do and see in the area and not so far from Boston, NYC, Fall River etc.. I’d visit again one day should the opportunity arise.

Why I want to go to this place

It is so close to Morocco, yet I never thought about it until a few days ago. I’d like to go there.

Florida

Worth visiting!

I was a kid

When I first moved to Florida, I was eighteen and by all standards was still a kid. I have only such recollection of the state, but I do think it was a great experience as I have learned quite a bit from my stay there and it prepared me for more things than I realized at the time.

Pennsylvania

Worth visiting!

Lived in PA for seven years

When I lived in the states, I spent about seven years in PA. Prior to that I lived for another seven years in Florida and prior to that for a year in Rhodes Island.

I actually liked all three states, as I had different experiences in each of them.

My job in PA actually allowed me to visit many other states and so I ended up travelling to and visiting about twenty different states and countless numbers of cities.

I won’t forget my extended stay in the US. It was certainly the experience of a lifetime which can only be matched by another extreme and my going and establishing a business in China, that is certainly an experience worth telling about one day…

Worth visiting!

my country

It is a lovely place and you are certainly welcome to visit. I myself can’t wait to get some time and visit some of the more pitorsque places that attract so many tourists. My goal is to spend 3-4 days in Ouarzazate in the coming months. I would also like to spend some days in Chefchaouen which I visited a few times as a kid. Marrakech being just a couple of hours away I’d like to visit again and act as a tourist and stay more than 48 hours this time. I know it is beautiful, but I’d like to see more of it.

United Arab Emirates

Worth visiting!

Transited through there a dozen times stopped over twice

Due to my frequent visits to China where I have an office, I have transited through Dubai at least a dozen times. Twice I stopped there for periods of 24 hours and did take a tour of the city. It is impressive in a way to see such tall building and construction going on in the middle of the desert. I bet with all the activities going on there, it would be a nice place to take a week’s rest and discover something else. Although beofre I do that, I still want to go to the Moroccan desert area of Ouarzazate before I contemplate spending a week in Dubai, after all it is my country and I have not seen all there is to see here first.

Worth visiting!

a few times

Been to France a few times. My most memorable visit was actually twenty years ago, the first time. When as a group of twenty or so high school students spent 23 days there. It was a blast and we got to visit so many cities including Paris but especially in the south of France.

As recent as last year, I went there twice on business, but did not have time to do much.. I did revisit the eifel tower though and it was a different experience from my teen years for sure.

I’d like to revisit actually and spend a couple of weeks just browsing around and taking pictures.

Small Village, Kind People

I spent a week , Technical and sales training with a company based in a small village near Stuttgart. There were people from about 10 different countries attending this seminar and our hosts Primion were fabulous. They did not manage any effort welcoming us. Every night we were invited to a different restaurant and the people there were quite friendly. I was not expecting that. I do expect however to go back to Germany and visit a bit.

Oman

Worth visiting!

24 Hours

I spent a bit over 24 hours in Oman where we had a stop over when our flight from Hong Kong to Dubai was delayed a couple of years back.

I did manage to go out the entire 24 hours. I went to a large technology / computer show and met some people there and spent an afternoon at the local mall. While I did not see much per say. It was a free twenty four hour vacation where I saw as much as you can see in twenty four hours (unless you are Jack Bauer sp?)

Anyway, I do want to go back as it would be nice to see again a couple of my buddies from Oman whom I’ve met back when I was studying in the States a long time ago at ERAU for a year only (Reda and Abdul Razak) who were very kind friends and of course from Oman.
