Three Hills

(in Canada > Alberta)

Worth visiting!

Untitled

Three Hills is the definition of “small town, Alberta,” but in the good way. If your going to Three Hills, i must recommend this zoo about five clicks outside of the town (sorry, can’t remember what direction… i think NORTH tho)
It’s called the Guzoo. It was a rehabilitation zoo, or else we probably wouldn’t have bothered. My aunt went with her family and HIGHLY recommended it to my family.. naturally curious, we checked it out.
We got there before everyone (we’re an early riser family) i had about 2 dozen hound dogs greet me… as friendly as can be… all of which tame enough not to jump on me or anything.. but friendly enough to be curious.. it was adorable.
all in all, amazing zoo but i have to mention the tiger.
there was this tiger that was trained, cuz he was in a movie in like hollywood, and they had to get rid of him after the movie was done… but didn’t know where to put him. Other than the owner’s horses, he was the only animal that wasn’t there because for rehabilitation. They just couldn’t send him out in the wild, he’d never survive.
This tiger was adorable.. nine months old. i pet him and in return he purred.. absolutely ADORABLE! omg the best part? he started petting this enormous dog… the tiger started PETTING IT! i couldn’t believe it.
There was also this adorable moose that ate apricots and spit the middle part out n shot it at my dad..
Also, the goats had kids which were only three days old… and i got to hold one… he was soo cute..these tiny tiny horns and just curled up into me and slept
i’ve never forgotten this trip…and never will.
just because of the guzoo.

News about this place

ok… Fort McMurray is kinda gross, and the people always are too busy to smile or thank you or help you at a department store (i’m talking about the employees there)
if you have to go there, or plan to anyways… you’ll notice the highway (63) is so busy, and everybody is always trying to leave the place.
By the plants (Syncrude and Suncor) there are a couple of wildlife places: one being the buffalo (which are constantly dying and getting sick with the fumes) and then the wildlife one (where they all HAVE died since the pr can’t force THOSE animals to stay there.)
You wanna see buffalo? go to a zoo. They’re treated better (believe it or not)

The first time I went to this place

I am currently attending the university here.. and my first time here was when i moved in
they have lakes (granted man made) on either side of the high way about halfway through the city… and on one side there’s swans… the other there are GORGEOUS “mirror lakes” which, in the winter, loox extraordinary. Especially with kids playing hockey on it, and children figure skating.
absolutely gorgeous

I have grown an unnatural fear of butterfly’s
I don’t know why, but i got scared of butterfly’s after being here. I had one LAND ON MY HEAD… and i didn’t feel it (light little buggers)
these chinese people started taking a picture of me and i got confused
i almost SCREAMED (actually i think i did) when i found out it was on my head
man, talk about embarassing… in front of all my friends too

La Basilique Notre-Dame

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I have now been to this notre dame, and the one in France. I actually had a better reaction from this one. When I went in, the tour guide told me all the stars on the roof were worth around a million dollars each, since they were real gold. There were a lot of them too… it was gorgeous.
I had the most amazing impression of this place… and would return, if fate allowed it.

Newfoundland and Labrador

Ok. So I admit, newfoundland may be boring.. but its gorgeous
and if you have relatives there, it’s completely worth it

only problem is: i landed in deer lake last summer when the security guard informed me that my luggage was still in toronto and it didn’t get on the plane… because the plane wasn’t big enough to hold everyone’s luggage.. they added seats knowing that all our luggage wouldn’t fit on it. Man, did that piss me off. I travelled from Alberta at like 6 that morning and landed at just after midnight, newfoundland time. If thats the kind of news you give after that long of a trip.. well i’ll never travel again.
