Praha, Bohemia

Untitled

If you’re going to Prague, consider staying at Sir Toby’s Hostel. The people there are lovely and some of the rooms like Malky Sen have been beautifully decorated with old newspapers and maps.

That’s me on the far left in the picture.

Turkey, Europe

One of the best places ever.

A couple of years ago whilst I was travelling through Europe I spent a month in Turkey.

I went to Istanbul, Cappadocia, Sanli Urfa, Nemrut Dagi, Dogubayazit, Ayder, Trabzon, and a bunch of other places.

I met lovely people who I am still friends with, I loved the food.

My recommendation is to head further east.

Coober Pedy, South Australia

The Australian Frontier

My dad used to fly the district judges up to Northern South Australia when he was younger. So he made friends with some of the locals and he flew the family up there a couple of times.

Coober Pedy and Andamooka are dusty towns made famous for the opals mined there. It’s hot too… It’s almost as if hobbits emigrated to the most barren landscape they could find, as it’s so hot that the easiest way to live is underground, so the majority of homes are underground.

I was probably only about 10 the last time I went there, but one of the major things I remembered was seeing more bullet holes in walls and road signs than I’ve ever seen (before or since!

).
