The Simpsons House

Not worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

They repainted it. It looks just like every other house in the neighborhood. Nothing special at all. :(

PNC Park

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

A beautiful ball park, possibly my favorite of the new ones. Its right on the river, and from the ballpark, you can see the yellow Roberto Clemente Bridge as well as the city skyline. The game is a very enjoyable experience with all the pirate-themed things like mascots, and all that. I especially liked the pirate ship battle on the big video screen right before the game and the seafood restaurant on the concourse (thats what pirates eat, right?). Very enjoyable experience and I look forward to going back.

Pittsburgh

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I went here to see a baseball game. I had never been to Pittsburgh before, and frankly, I wasnt expecting much. I was expecting an old, dying, polluted, industrial city. I was pleasantly surprised. The downtown area had plenty of life, and I found the city neither dirty nor polluted. Its really nice how the city has small mountains all around it, and the city is built around them. There’s also a lot of green around, which I found nice. I really was pleasantly surprised, and I look forward to going back so I can explore more of the city.

Star Trek: The Experience

Not worth visiting!

A review of this place

Its not bad, its just that its not worth anywhere near the $50 they want for it. For your $50, you see a few models of the Enterprise, a few props and costumes, some pictures, and a timeline of Star Trek future history (things that will happen, according to Star Trek). Then at the end, there is a ride. You actually have your choice of 2 rides (cant do both), but when I went, one wasnt working. I dont think its worth more than $20. At least they are pretty willing to give you a military, AAA, etc. discount without proof. Its cool to see, its just not worth what they charge.

Big Goose Pagoda

(in China > Shaanxi > Xi'an)

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Go at night. Every night (I think) they have a show with all the fountains and lights in front of the Pagoda. Its really beautiful, plus its interesting just to go to and be in that park before and during the show.

Chongqing

(in China)

Worth visiting!

Untitled

Its neat how the city is built on the mountains and around the river. The General Stillwell Museum isnt bad, but what I really liked was seeing the pandas at the zoo.

Wal-Mart

(in China > Beijing)

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

It sounds crazy, but go to Walmart in Beijing. Its really wild, something to see. The top two floors are similar to what you’d find in America, but the bottom floor, which is the grocery store, is unbelievable.

Badaling

Worth visiting!

A tip I have about this place

Very crowded when I was there. I preferred the Mutianyu section of the wall. If you do go though, go to the left. Its steeper, but there’s less people and I found it more enjoyable than most others I went with who went to the right.

Tokyo

(in Japan > Honshu > Kantō)
Untitled

Well, I tried to go to Tokyo, but the airline wouldnt let me. Coming back from China, I had to change planes in Tokyo. I planned to change my flight from Tokyo to the US to the next day and then go into town and check it out, but the airline wouldnt allow me to change my ticket. I guess I’ll have to find another way to get here. :(

Amarillo

The last time I went to this place

I have a few days in town and am looking for things to do after I get off work. Can you suggest some things to do? I already went to Palo Duro Canyon and plan to go to the Cadillac Ranch. Restaurant suggestions welcome as well (especially steakhouses)
